- :Theoretically, it may work, but be aware that AnimLab does not save
- :to any of the HAM formats, at least officially. Let me know what the results
- :are after your experiments.
-
-
- Roger that :)
-
- : Keep in mind that we have very little use for the HAM modes, other than
- : displaying the images. You can't use text, text wipes and most of the
- : page wipes do not function well in HAM. Therefore our support for HAM is
- : limited.
-
- Yeah, that's true, but they look awesome!
-
-
- As well, I think I'll be able to cheat by separately saving the beginning
- and ending frames as IFF and doing the screen wipes to these with a jump
- cut to the anim. Text could be composited to the Ham anim using
- Brilliance animbrushes beforehand if needed.
-
-
- : >>BTW, I find that I can get Ham anims to just 'smoke' in terms of playback
- : >speed using the 32I save format...the trick is to slow them down!
- : >(interim results only, testing ongoing).
-
- : It works because AnimLab's 32I format removes every other scanline. Careful
- : about making the animation playback too slow. Missing scanlines will become
- : more apparent at 20 fps or slower.
-
-
- On further experimentation, I find that it is seldom I can get the Ham
- screen palletes not to be screwed up by dicing the screen this way (32I)
- ....too many artifacts. Further, any resizing or pallette changes seem to
- default back to 256 colours. If you feed it HAM tho',it stays bacon all
- the way ;)
-
-
- But on my 030/25, no significant problem with excellent looking Ham8 at
- 640X200, 320X200 (duh).....and it makes really nice 640X400 PIP effects
- on a jazzy textured backdrop (I reduced the backdrop to 256 colors before
- compositing, and yes it does make a big difference to the anim size).
-
- Just a few hopefully helpful reflections :)
